Ingredients
  • 300 grams penne pasta
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Baladna Cooking Cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or chili flakes
  • Grated parmesan or mozzarella for topping

How it's made!
    • Cook the pasta
    • Boil a pot of salted water. Add the penne and cook until al dente. Reserve half a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
    • Sauté aromatics
    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and lightly golden. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
    • Add tomato sauce
    • Pour in the tomato sauce and paprika. Cook for about 5 minutes to reduce the acidity and deepen the flavor.
    • Add cream
    • Reduce heat and slowly stir in Baladna Cooking Cream. Mix until the sauce turns smooth and a soft pink color forms. Season with salt and pepper.
    • Combine
    • Add the cooked penne directly into the sauce. Toss well until every piece is coated. Add some pasta water if the sauce becomes too thick.
    • Serve
    • Top with grated cheese and serve hot.
    • Tips
    • Adding a pinch of sugar balances the tomato acidity. For a richer taste, add a handful of mozzarella directly into the sauce to melt.
